First off, they’re not the typical western cartoons from the US. The art style is distinctly Japanese. Not only that. Anime’s entire story premise is miles different from those of western comics. You see, anime and manga showcase easily recognizable culture that screams Asian in every aspect. You just didn’t get that from western cartoons back then.
I also learned a lot of life lessons from the plot. The characters became my surrogate family and friends. When I felt alone in this world, I found solace in the 2D world. I spent a fuckton of my free time immersing myself in the world of anime and manga, so probably at least a third of my personality can be accounted to my obsession with these Asian cartoons and comics.

They’ve been around for quite some time and remain active to this day, so it’s no surprise that they would amass such a large number of hentai goodies.
They’re the first booru site dedicated to anime and video game images. I mean, DanBooru is the original anime image booru where you can search millions of anime pictures categorized by thousands of tags.

Booru is the Japanese form of the English word “board.” I find it a bit funny because DanBooru comes from the Japanese word for cardboard. So basically, booru is a new breed of imageboards where images are categorized with tags.

Visitors are welcomed with a pretty straightforward image hosting site. Only this time, it’s filled with cumtastic anime characters. The site name and logo are up on the upper left-hand side of the page, followed by the main menu. A search bar is on the left side of the page, followed by what looks like DanBooru’s top tags, followed by Related Links. The rest of the page is dedicated to the hottest anime images you can find online.
The main menu consists of Login, Posts, Comments, Notes, Artists, Tags, Pools, Wiki, Forum, and More. Every main tab has a secondary set of submenus but let’s not waste precious fap time on those as most of them are pretty much self-explanatory.
The Posts tab basically showcases all the anime images on this site. A post is practically a single image that’s been uploaded here at DanBooru. Each post can have many tags, comments, notes, and single artist commentaries. Each post may also belong to multiple pools.
Searching for posts here at DanBooru is pretty painless. Just enter the tags you want to search for, separating tags by spaces and words within tags by underscores.
For example, searching for “blonde_hair blue_eyes” will return every post that has both the blonde hair tag and the blue eyes tag.
Danbooru also offers many metatags that let you further refine your search. Meta Tags allow you to query on things like image width, height, score, uploader, upload date, and many more. You can learn more about this system under DanBooru’s Wiki tab on their site. You can also consult DanBooru’s cheat sheet for a complete list of commands you can do on this site.
Now, I was a bit confused between the Comments tab and the Notes Tab here at DanBooru. Apparently, you can annotate images with notes, and these are used primarily to translate text. Comments, on the other hand, are plain comments by site users.
You can also browse images by artists under the Artists tab.
The Forum tab is a no-brainer. It’s the place for discussions related to DanBooru like Tags, Bugs, and Features, among other things.
The Pools tab is where you can feast on various pools created by fellow hentai fappers here at DanBooru. I’ve mentioned a more in-depth definition of pools above, but you can also familiarize yourself more about this matter on DanBooru’s Wiki tab.
There’s a total of 25 featured tags displayed on DanBooru’s homepage. Genshin Impact is the first one on the list, with 74k posts under it. If you think that’s a lot, that’s not even the tag that has the most content available under it. For example, the Solo tag currently has a total of 3.2 million posts under it.
I also spotted my personal favorites in the list of featured tags like Fate (Series), Pokemon, Yuri, and my most recent obsession – Spy X Family. I can’t help it. Anya is so fucking cute, and Yor is the woman of my filthy dreams!
Here’s a fucking neat feature. When you click on your preferred tag, aside from the stream of anime images, DanBooru also lists related tags for you. For example: when I clicked on spy_x_family, Danbooru also listed tags like yor_briar, anya, twilight, damian_desmond, and many more.

DanBooru indeed is a site that keeps on giving. I love the fact that there’s a counter on every tag, pool, and other things present here on the site. I mean, they actually tell users how many items they have overall and on every tab they have in here.
For example, the total current free content here at DanBooru is a whopping 5,372,251 posts. Spy X Family has 3409 total posts at the moment, but with its popularity, I won’t be surprised if that number rises quite soon.
